09.24.2011 Scotty’s Going Away Party Stopped by the old Roosevelt Hotel to say goodbye to Scott before he leaves for Jersey. It was a freshman year of college reunion, along with some high school goodies. Pretty much transported back to age 18, along with laser lights, a resident DJ, cupcakes, & stacks of good people piled on couches. At first it felt really strange standing by the stove, slowly sipping my Special Export watching everyone else dance and socialize, then I realized practically no one was into the music and laughed to myself. Until Alex goes up to the DJ and tells him to get the music together. “We need something with words,” she tried saying as politely as possible. So damn funny. Short, bittersweet night. Left on the Red Line and ended up with an old co-worked at Brendan’s Pub on Broadway (jankfest). All in all, good night for having been made to close at 10PM on a Friday.
